Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce

Message from the Chamber Chair

Are you ready for 2011? Looking back on 2010, I would say that the majority of us are ready for a new year. Like most of you, I am thankful for the free country we live in, my family, having a roof over our heads, food, and fellowship with friends. We can be happy that we live in a part of the country where business is steadily increasing.

Looking at your business over the past few years, I imagine you were thankful to still be open for business at the end of 2010. Now here comes the big question… How can I increase my business in 2011? There are many ways to approach this: making hundreds of cold calls per week; going door-to-door to try and get past the gate keeper; and using multimedia outlets.

One of the best methods of growing your business is to do business with people you know. It is a proven fact that people do business with people they know and trust. I challenge you to get involved with the Chamber. With membership increasing over the past year there is no better place to meet over 400 business professionals. There are all types and sizes of businesses in the Chamber, from companies with one owner to those with over a hundred employees. The Chamber offers events in the morning, at lunch, and after the traditional business day. The Chamber has several events planned where you can get involved; the Annual Banquet in February, the Heritage Golf Classic in April, the "Run the Quay" 5K in June, and the "Core Connections" Business Expo in the Fall.

Make a New Year's resolution to join the Chamber as an active member and watch your business grow in 2011.
