Events

Chamber Events

The Chamber holds several events during the course of the year that are geared toward Chamber members to socialize and promote member involvement. These events offer a friendly atmosphere that encourages member participation. These events are:

  • Annual Banquet: Occurring in the spring, the dinner is a combination of social interaction and recognition of members who have had an impact either on the Chamber or the community. The event officially marks the change in Chamber leadership from old to new board members.
  • Member Appreciation: This is an end of summer party that is a way for the Chamber to say "Thank You" to our members that have helped make the Chamber a success. The event is focused on a relaxed evening for members to just have a good time.
  • Heritage Golf Tournament: A day of fun on one of our beautiful member golf courses. Held at the beginning of autumn, a fun "scramble" format makes it a low pressure round of golf so members can have a good time.

Community Events

While we are a membership organization designed to support and promote members, many of our events and services benefit the community as a whole. We are able to orchestrate and perform these community events each year because of our excellent volunteer base. These events include:

  • Annual Christmas Parade: Held the first Sunday of December, the parade provides local religious organizations, clubs, businesses and residents the opportunity to begin the celebration of the Christmas Season. Last year over 1,000 people participated in the parade with several thousand more lining the route;
  • Day-in-Downtown: This street fair and festival is held annually to showcase the old downtown area and promote local business while providing a family-oriented activity for the residents. Last year the day attracted 10,000 plus residents and is a partnership with several organizations; and
  • Run the Quay 5K: has grown, last year bringing over 350 runners, many of which get to know Fuquay-Varina for the first time. This past year runners came from as far away as Texas. This is now presented in conjunction with the Town's Celebrate Fuquay-Varina.
