July 15, 2010 Business After Hours at Johnson Concrete
The Chamber's July Business After Hours was held on Thursday, July 15th at Johnson Concrete out on Highway 42. With over 40 people in attendance during prime vacation season, staff members of Johnson Concrete hosted the even on the grounds of their complex, showing off their new paving and stonework division. Projects such as do-it-yourself firepits all the way to large grilling patios with giant stone chimneys graced the scene as Chamber members and guests walked the grounds and and enjoyed the wonderful food provided by Amy Clifton at Grill on Main.
Guests at this event included Chamber Board members, Ambassadors, and staff, as well as numerous Johnson Concrete representatives. Executive Director Tommy Broadwell and Chamber President Steve Ashworth both welcomed everyone to the event and recognized all parties before introducing the Johnson Concrete staff.
Operations Manager Herb Jeffreys welcomed all the guests with a brief rundown of the products and services that Johnson Concrete's new paving and stonework division can offer, from large, contractor-run projects to smaller, "IKEA-type" projects that the backyard enthusiast can do themselves. Carley Milinichik, sales manager for the new division, expressed her enthusiasm for being able to offer kits to consumers as an option for those who are willing to do the work themselves to save some cash during the current economy. "I can have them delivered on a pallet as is," she explained, "or you can come in and work with one of our approved landscape designers to create the perfect backyard."
After the presentations, Jackie Day and Carley Milinichik drew a business card for the only door prize of the evening -- a $300 firepit kit. Sarah Price from Vantage Point Systems was the winner of that prize! A great time was had by all, despite the heat and humidity. Please stop by Johnson Concrete the next time you are looking for any paving or stonework ideas. Their competent staff and enthusiastic designers will help you with any size project!
