WELCOME

The Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce welcomes you to our fast-growing, business-friendly community that invites newcomers yet preserves its safe, relaxed, small town appeal. Whether you are a resident, a business owner, or just interested in our area, we encourage you to explore this site to find out more about the unique opportunities available through the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce.

We have two thriving historic downtowns, minutes apart. This allows access to multiple services and products in two distinct shopping environments while maintaining a sense of history dating back over 200 years.

We also anticipate high residential and business growth in our area over the next 5-10 years as a result of 1) the expansion of Fort Bragg, 2) a planned expansion of the Route 401 corridor from Fayetteville to Raleigh, 3) the completion of I-540, 4) the Veridea development project in Apex that will create 30,000 new jobs, and 5) the completion of the Novartis pharmaceutical plant in Holly Springs, which plans to start production of flu vaccines in 2011. For more information about these new opportunities and how they will impact our town, check out The Perfect Storm, by Art Sanders.

Life in Fuquay-Varina offers the advantage of having what you need in close proximity while providing small town charm and an affordable living environment. Family is highly valued, as are neighbors and the serenity of our location. Our forward-looking town and business leaders will continue to plan for growth opportunities for Fuquay-Varina, but the most important aspect of living and working in Fuquay-Varina will always be the charm, warmth, and character of the people who live here.

Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce Contributes to Culinary Exchange Trip

January 5, 2012 - Students in Wake Techs Culinary Arts program got a little closer to real French cuisine today with a $600 contribution from the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce. Chamber Executive Director Tommy Broadwell presented the check to Dr. Stephen Scott, Wake Tech President, and Jeff Hadley, head of the Culinary Arts Department, to support the students planned study trip to France, in March.

As part of a Culinary Exchange program, the Wake Tech students will travel to Le Touquet, France, where they will work in local restaurants and learn about food preparation techniques and customer service. When they return, they will share their new skills and knowledge with classmates and instructors.

"International travel presents an incredible learning opportunity for our students", says President Scott, "and we are very grateful that the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce has chosen to contribute so generously to this educational trip". Community support strengthens Wake Techs programs and enhances the educational experience and that has lasting impact throughout our region.

Chamber members, elected officials, and real estate professionals visited Wake Tech recently and had opportunity to sample the work of the culinary arts students.  According to Mr. Broadwell, they were very impressed:  The quality of instruction at Wake Tech is outstanding, and students are obviously getting valuable experience and skills that will help them launch successful careers.  The Chamber proudly supports the Wake Tech mission.

The Culinary Arts students have hosted several fundraisers to cover costs for the trip to France and are continuing to accept donations.  For more information call 919-866-5990 or visit http://culinary.waketech.edu.
